A dark comedy, based on the best-selling novel by John Irving. The Berry family consists of Father, Mother, John (a student), Franny (the victim of a gang rape), Frank (who is gay) and Lilly. Together they run the Hotel New Hampshire in New England, but when Father's friend Freud asks them for help, they move operations to a hostelry in Vienna with the same name.
