In the walled city of Bethulia, a highly-regarded widow, named Judith the Devout, carries the responsibility of saving her people from Prince Holofernes and his Assyrian army. When the army of Assur invades and occupies the area outside of the city walls, the Bethulians hope that their city''s fortifications will protect them.
